On September 29, 2023, The Liberian government and its International partners officially launched the “Beneficial Ownership Register” in Monrovia. In August 2023 Liberia published its regulation on the declaration of beneficial ownership information for domestic entities.
The regulation provides for the collection, processing, verification, maintenance, publication and accessibility of beneficial ownership information of domestic entities. It was drafted in accordance with the amended Business Corporations Act of 2020.
The declaration of Beneficial Owners (true owners or controllers) can now be made through the Beneficial Ownership (BO) office established at the Liberia Business Registry (LBR) manually or an online platform that will be available to the public early December 2023.
